Airspace restructuring between Albania and Greece

On January 30th, 2018, the Greek Air Navigation Service Provider HCAA hosted in Athens the Bilateral Meeting with ALBCONTROL, Air Navigation Services of Albania.

The meeting was focused on the improvement of the airspace corridor network, the orientation of the common traffic flow and airspace restructuring between the two countries, in order to provide most favorable flight trajectories by users.
HCAA and ALBCONTROL experts discussed operational options to reduce the workload for ATCOs, and strategic solutions aiming to offer an efficient service to airlines including shorter routes and faster access to economic flight levels.
The two ANSPs agreed to proceed with simulations in order define final airspace structure to accommodate the common traffic flow.

ALBCONTROL and HCAA expressed their mutual will on the development of their bilateral dialogue and future cooperation for safe and efficient management of air navigation services.
The next bilateral meeting is expected to be held in early autumn in Tirana, invited by the Director General of ALBCONTROL, Mrs. Belinda Balluku.
